Anyone else dealing with 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 transmission problems?

I’ve been having some issues with my 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500’s transmission lately, and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced similar problems. Here are some symptoms I’ve noticed:

  • Rough shifting: The transmission seems to hesitate before shifting, especially when accelerating.
  • Slipping: There are moments where it feels like the transmission is slipping out of gear for a second.
  • Check Engine Light: Recently, the check engine light came on, and I suspect it might be related to the transmission.

I did some research and found that this might not be a unique issue, as some other owners have reported similar struggles. Has anyone had any luck getting this resolved?

I’d appreciate any advice or insights you all might have regarding possible fixes or what steps to take next. Should I be worried about long-term damage? Looking forward to hearing your experiences and solutions!

Yes! I’m experiencing that as well. I took mine to the dealer, and they mentioned it could be related to the shift solenoid. Anyone else heard that?

I’ve been having issues with delayed engagement. Sometimes it feels like it takes forever to shift into gear. Not fun, especially when I need to merge into traffic.

I can relate. I experience that too! Have you gotten any codes read? Might help to pinpoint the issue.

I had P0751 and P0756 codes show up. The dealer said these relate to shift solenoid malfunctions. Anyone dealt with this before?

I’ve heard that P0751 is pretty common in these trucks. If you’re facing that, it usually means replacing some parts can help. Just brace for the repair cost!

My Silverado has also been jerking, but it’s like it’s stuck between gears sometimes. Quite annoying! Could it be a tuning issue?

I had the same thing! That stuck feeling is definitely a transmission issue. I wonder if it’s a known flaw with that model year? They should have recalled us by now!

It’s possible! With these noted issues, I wonder if GM will listen and do something about it. For now, let’s just keep sharing experiences.

What’s the average repair cost for fixing these transmission issues? I’m hesitant to go to the dealer again after their last estimate.

I’ve seen repair costs range from $800 to over $2000 depending on what needs to be replaced. Yikes! It’s a gamble, really.

You know, I’ve started joking that my Silverado is just practicing its dance moves with all this shifting! But it’s not actually funny when you need it for work.

Ha! That’s a good one, but I completely understand your frustration. Let’s keep hoping for a simple fix!

I’ve had some serious issues with my Silverado’s transmission as well. I’ve heard fluid problems are a major concern. Anyone else experienced that?

Definitely! Fluid issues can lead to overheating. Make sure to check the transmission fluid level and quality regularly.

I’ve noticed some rough shifts too! Could it be a software glitch? I wonder if resetting the transmission might help.

A reset might help, but it’s worth checking for any software updates too. My dealer mentioned they have updates that can resolve shifting issues.

I had a transmission fluid leak that caused my shifts to slip. If you notice a puddle under your truck, that’s a sign you need to investigate!

Good tip! I’ve been checking under mine regularly since I started having issues. It’s so annoying when you find those leaks!

I think mechanical wear could also be a big factor. My truck has a lot of miles, and I’m starting to notice some strange behavior when accelerating.
