Anyone else dealing with overheating issues on their 2014 Chevy Traverse?

I regularly check my coolant levels and make sure the radiator isn’t clogged. It’s a small step that can make a big difference! Definitely look into it if you haven’t already.

I had overheating issues with my 2014 Traverse last summer. A simple check of the coolant levels sorted it out for me. Have you checked yours yet?

That’s a great tip! Besides checking coolant, have you looked at the radiator? Sometimes they get clogged and can cause overheating.

Don’t forget the thermostat! If it’s stuck closed, that can definitely cause your engine to overheat. It’s an easy DIY check.

Good point about the thermostat. Has anyone had to replace theirs? I’m curious about the costs and the process.

I replaced my thermostat last year, it was around $100 for part and labor if you can’t DIY it. You can find plenty of guides online to help with that!

Thanks! That’s helpful info. When would you say it’s essential to seek a mechanic for overheating issues?

If you notice steam or smell burning, definitely see a pro! Those can be signs of a more severe issue, like a blown head gasket.

Yikes! That’s scary! I’ve seen engines totally ruined from neglecting overheating. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that for anyone.

Absolutely! I always say, prevention is better than repair. Regular checks can save your engine—and your wallet!

Totally agree! Just imagine if fixing the overheating was only a tune-up away. That’d be delightful!
