Best Windshield Wipers for 2018 Chevy Equinox?

I’m looking to replace the windshield wipers on my 2018 Chevy Equinox and could really use some advice. I’ve noticed that visibility has been poor recently in rainy conditions, and I want to make sure I get the right wipers that fit my vehicle perfectly.

What to Consider

Before I dive into brands and options, I’m curious about what specifications I should look for in a new pair of windshield wipers:

  • Size: What’s the correct size for the 2018 Equinox? Are there different sizes for the driver and passenger sides?
  • Type: Should I go for traditional frame wipers, or is it worth investing in beam blades or winter wipers for better performance?

Recommendations?

If anyone has recommendations on brands that they’ve had good experiences with, I’d love to hear them. Are there specific wiper blades that stand out in terms of longevity and performance? I want something reliable, especially with winter coming up.

Installation Tips

Also, if anyone has installation tips or knows if the process is straightforward, please share. I’d prefer doing it myself rather than going to a shop if it’s not too complicated.

Maintenance Advice

Lastly, what’s the best way to maintain windshield wipers? I want to make sure I’m getting the most out of them, and I’d appreciate any tips you all have.

Thanks in advance for the help! Looking forward to your responses!

I recently replaced my windshield wipers on my 2018 Equinox and went with silicone ones. They’re holding up great! Much better for rainy weather.

I had a similar experience with beam wipers! They really perform well in heavy rain and I think they look sleeker too.

I’ve always used conventional wipers, but I’m curious if I’d notice a difference with silicone or beam wipers. Can anyone share their experience?

You will definitely notice a difference! Beam wipers contour better to the windshield, leading to better contact.

In my area, we get a lot of snow. Conventional wipers just don’t hold up. Has anyone tried winter-specific models?

I live in a really humid area. Can anyone recommend wipers that resist wear from moisture? I’m leaning towards silicone.

Definitely go for silicone! They last longer in humid conditions compared to other types.

I hate changing wipers every few months. Anyone tried those beam wipers long-term?

Yes! I’ve been using beam wipers for over a year and they’re still going strong. Worth the investment!

I would just avoid cheap brands. A wiper is worth the splurge, especially with our crazy weather!

Agreed! But sometimes I feel like I’m spending a fortune on wipers alone. Why can’t they make them last longer?

Lol, I know right? I feel like I have a wiper relationship. Breaking up with them is hard!

Haha! True! It feels like a commitment. Just make sure to check the size before you buy!

Sure! Conventional wipers are cheaper and easier to find but beam wipers provide better performance and longevity.

I recently changed my windshield wipers on my 2018 Equinox, and it was pretty straightforward. You just need a flathead screwdriver and the new wipers. Make sure to lift the wiper arm first!

Great tip! Just make sure to be gentle when lifting the wiper arm; it’s easy to accidentally damage the windshield if you’re not careful.

Yeah, I agree with facosta. Also, when installing, ensure that you hear a click sound; that means it’s locked into place. Otherwise, they can come off while driving.

Has anyone faced issues with the wipers making noise after installation? Mine seemed pretty loud after I replaced them.

I’ve noticed that too, jodi45. It might be because the blades aren’t aligned properly or they’re not the correct size. Double-check the specifications for the 2018 Equinox.
