Oh yes! I tried on a muddy slope last month and it was a disaster! The feature just wouldn’t hold at all. I had to use manual braking instead.

I’ve been using Chevy’s Hill Descent Control for a while now, mostly in mountainous areas. It really takes the stress out of steep descents! Just remember to let it do the work and don’t brake suddenly.

I’d recommend using Hill Descent Control in gravel or loose sand too, but stay off the brakes unless absolutely needed. I’ve had a few slip-ups when I panicked.
