Chevy Equinox Loses Power While Driving - Need Help!

This may sound silly, but has anyone checked if the gas cap is on tight? A loose cap can affect fuel pressure! Just throwing it out there

Haha, I never would have thought of that! But it’s true! Sometimes the smallest things can make a big difference.

I recommend scheduling regular check-ups for your Equinox, especially focusing on the fuel system and air filters. A clean fuel filter can help maintain power while driving.

Absolutely! I had similar issues, and a mechanic pointed out that checking the spark plugs can make a huge difference.

Has anyone tried using a fuel injector cleaner? I read that it can improve engine performance, which might help with power loss.

I use it every few months, and it seems to help! Power sensitivity noticeably improves after each use.

Don’t forget about tire pressure! Low pressure can affect performance. Keeping tires inflated to the correct PSI is crucial.

Good point! And I also found that cabin air filters can get clogged and will impact the airflow in the vehicle.

Check for any error codes too! Sometimes, the check engine light can give insight into power loss problems.

Yes! A quick scan with an OBD-II reader can save a lot of time diagnosing the issue!

I once had an Equinox that seemed to lose power on hills. Turned out to be a transmission fluid issue. Don’t ignore that!

Yikes! I guess if my Equinox starts acting up, I’ll just have to find a nice flat road!
