Help with 1957 Chevy Wiring Harness - What's the Best Upgrade?

Check out YouTube, there are some great step-by-step videos! Just search for ‘1957 Chevy wiring harness install.’

I’m upgrading my '57 Chevy’s wiring harness as well. I recommend going for a complete aftermarket wiring kit. They usually come with everything you need and better instructions.

I’ve heard good things about the American AutoWire kits. They seem to be user-friendly and great for classic cars.

When installing, ensure you’re labeling your wires as you go. It saves a ton of headaches later when diagnosing issues!

Great tip! I didn’t do that on my last project and ended up rewiring half of it. Not fun!

If you run into grounding issues, consider checking your connections at the frame. A clean ground makes a massive difference!

Absolutely! I also added some dielectric grease to my connections; it works wonders for longevity.

Guys, can anyone help me with my headlights flickering post-install? I swear it wasn’t happening before the upgrade.

That could be a bad connection at the switch. Check the wire connections and make sure they are secure. Don’t take any chances with those lights!

Also, if you’re feeling brave, swap out the relay for the headlights; sometimes, the relays can fail after an upgrade.

I can’t believe how complicated wiring can be! If I had a dollar for every time I got confused with a wiring diagram…
