Remote start can be finicky! If your car is low on fuel, that might prevent it from starting. Just a thought!
True! I also read that the brake pedal must be in the correct position. If it’s not fully up, it won’t start either.

I had a moment of confusion! I pressed the button too many times and thought it was broken. Apparently, there’s a limit to how many times you can press it in quick succession.

For me, checking the battery lasted way longer than expected! I switched it out and everything started working like new again!

What about settings? Sometimes remote start features can be turned off in the vehicle’s settings. Did everyone check their settings?
Good point! I did check mine, but it’s all active. I wonder if anyone found a mysterious setting that could be causing issues.

Yes! I believe it’s around 0°F. Below that, the remote start may not work. That definitely confused me at first!

I’ve noticed that the remote start features have really evolved in recent Equinox models. The 2021 version allows you to start the car from over 300 feet away, which is fantastic for cold mornings!
Absolutely! The 2018 model also included remote start, but the range was much shorter. It feels like they really listen to user feedback.
I had a 2016 Equinox and the remote start worked well until it stopped one winter. I found out it was a battery issue. Since then, I’ve been vigilant about checking it regularly.

I think the remote start is one of the best features of the Equinox! My 2020 model also has the added benefit of smartphone integration. You can start it from anywhere with the app.
