Looking for Recommendations on Rough Country Ball Joints for Chevy

I installed the ball joints on a whim, and while they performed well at first, I feel like they’re a bit of a gamble. The price is right, but durability is questionable. Kind of like that last slice of pizza; looks great but…!

Great analogy! I’m really hopeful these will last longer than my last set. What a nightmare that was with constant replacements!

I’ve been using Rough Country ball joints on my Chevy for about a year now. They were competitively priced and installation was straightforward. Definitely a solid choice if you’re looking to balance cost and performance!

That’s great to hear! How do they compare in durability to other brands? I’ve seen some folks recommending Moog as well.

I’ve read mixed reviews on Rough Country. Some people love the price point, but others say they wear out quicker than expected. Anyone experienced this?

I agree with you, shorton. I like their pricing, but I wonder if it’s worth it in the long run. Have you looked at any alternatives?

Honestly, I opted for Moog ball joints instead of Rough Country on my last project. I felt they were a bit pricier, but the reputation for durability made the investment worth it. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Rough Country does have some hustle in the aftermarket scene, and the ease of installation is a huge plus! But yeah, I wonder if that comes at a cost to longevity. Would love to hear from more users!

Moog is a solid choice! I personally think it’s worth spending a little extra for quality. Reliability is key for off-road or heavy towing applications.

I haven’t installed Rough Country yet, but I’m looking to replace mine soon. For those who’ve done it, how’s the fitment on a stock setup? Any special tools required?

The fitment was pretty good on my stock Chevy! Just basic tools were needed. But don’t forget to get an alignment afterward—critical for performance!

A friend of mine installed Rough Country and joked that he’d need a second mortgage if he kept breaking ball joints! It’s all in fun, but definitely consider durability before diving in.
