Need Help with Chevy Spark Plug Gap Settings!

Hey everyone! I’m having trouble finding the right spark plug gap setting for my Chevy. What are your go-to specs?

The typical gap for a Chevy Spark is usually around 0.028 to 0.060 inches, depending on the model year. Make sure to double-check your manual!

What symptoms are you experiencing, tmoore? Misfiring or poor acceleration can definitely point to gapping issues.

I’m noticing some rough idling and a decrease in fuel efficiency. Could it be related to the gap?

Absolutely, tmoore! Incorrect spark plug gap can lead to all those symptoms. Have you checked if the plugs are worn out too?

I’ve had similar issues with my Chevy! I found out that using a feeler gauge helps get that gap just right. It’s a game changer!

Great tip! I’ve also heard that excessive gap can lead to hard starting and stalling. Is that true?

For sure, too much gap can definitely cause stalling or hard starts. It’s all about finding that sweet spot!

Why not throw some humor in? Why did the spark plug break up with the ignition coil? Because it found the gap too wide! But seriously, checking the gap can save you a ton of headaches.

Haha! We love a good joke, but you’re spot on with the need to check the gap. How often do you guys recommend changing spark plugs?

Typically, it’s good to change them every 30k-50k miles, but always trust your car’s manual. It’s so easy to overlook!
