Need Help with My 1994 Blazer 2 Door - Repair Tips and Advice

It’s true, no point in adding power if the engine isn’t running well. Maintenance first, upgrades later! Definitely wise advice.

Every time I think of upgrading my Blazer, I end up getting distracted by other projects… Anyone else in the same boat? Haha!

Guilty as charged! But it feels good to finally focus on my Blazer. Time for those upgrades!

To really enhance the driving experience, don’t overlook steering upgrades. Better control goes a long way in performance!

Great point! Steering stability is key, especially if you’re considering off-roading too. It all adds up to a better ride.

I have a 1994 Blazer too! One common issue is the electrical system. Check the fuse box for blown fuses and inspect wiring for corrosion. Those ancient connections can be tricky!

Absolutely! My Blazer had a similar problem. I replaced a few relays and it fixed the erratic lights. Has anyone checked their relay box?

If you’re having transmission issues, it could be low fluid or a bigger problem. Regular maintenance is key. Don’t ignore those clunks or slips!

I second that, @lucasjesse! I once ignored a slip and ended up needing a whole rebuild. Check the transmission fluid regularly!

For cooling system failures, a common cause is a leaking radiator or bad thermostat. Have you guys ever had to replace these? It’s a hassle but worth it!

Yes! My radiator went last summer, and boy was it an ordeal. Make sure you have coolant on hand for those spontaneous heat-ups!

Did anyone mention the fuel system? The pump can be a pain in older models. Check for signs of a weak pump if you’re having starting issues.

That’s a good point @mdaniels! I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the fuel filter. Regular changes can prevent headaches down the road!

I love my Blazer, but sometimes I wonder if it loves me back—especially when that engine light comes on. It’s like a bad relationship!

Right? It’s like the Blazer has a mind of its own! We’ve got to learn its quirks to keep it happy.

Reflecting on repairs, it helps to have a solid mechanic who understands these vintage vehicles. Anyone have recommendations? Local shops or experienced individuals?

Definitely, @mariesmith! A reliable mechanic can save you a lot of trouble. I trust my local shop, but it can be hard to find someone who knows these older models well!
