Totally agree with Courtney! Just make sure you have a decent workspace. It’s a messy job with all the fluid and dirt. Not to mention, watch your back!

If you go for a pro, I’d suggest checking out your local Yelp reviews. Plenty of shops can do it, but you need to find one that knows older models. Transmission fluid issues can be specific!
I’ve seen some shops charge an arm and a leg for older models! Sometimes it’s just not worth the hefty price tag, especially when parts can be found for cheaper online.
So true! I think if you’re ready to put in a bit of elbow grease, you can save a lot. Have you checked any forums for part suppliers?

Yes! I found some good suppliers through forums and eBay. Prices can vary a lot, but it’s important to read reviews of the parts before you buy. Don’t want to end up with junk!
Great advice! I’m definitely leaning towards getting parts from reputable forums. Has anyone tried a complete rebuild kit? How’s that experience?
I did a complete rebuild on my old truck and it was a learning experience! It’s worth it if you have the time and patience, but can be challenging without some prior knowledge.
