I’m currently considering getting a Chevrolet S10 and I’m really curious about its fuel efficiency.
What are the miles per gallon (MPG) figures for different model years?
Have any of you made modifications to improve fuel economy?
How does the MPG compare between the 4-cylinder and the V6 models?
I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews and I want to get a clearer picture before making a decision.
If anyone has hands-on experience or any tips on how to maximize the gas mileage on a Chevy S10, I would appreciate your insights! This information will really help in evaluating whether this is the right vehicle for me.
I own a 1998 Chevy S10 with a V6 engine, and I get around 18-20 MPG in city driving. On the highway, it improves to about 24 MPG. Engine type really makes a difference!
I had a 2001 model that was a 4-cylinder and got around 24 MPG regularly. Driving conditions like stop-and-go traffic tend to lower MPG significantly, though.
Get a fuel-efficient driving style down, and you can really see improvements. I average 20-22 MPG in my 2003 S10, mostly highway driving at a steady speed.
I have a 2000 Chevy S10 with a 2.2L engine, and I typically get around 22 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. It’s all stock, no modifications yet!
I’ve got a 2003 S10 with a 4.3L V6. On the freeway, I can squeeze out about 25 MPG, but around town, it’s closer to 18 MPG. Definitely goes lower with any towing.
Fuel efficiency can vary a lot. My cousin’s stock S10 gets around 25 MPG, but my lifted version hovers around 15 MPG. It really matters what you do with it!
