What’s the Best Throttle Body for a 5.3 Vortec?

I’m thinking of going with the Edelbrock throttle body. What’s everyone’s thoughts on it? Any special considerations?

I’ve had good luck with Edelbrock products. Just be mindful that you may need to replace some hoses for better fitting.

How about performance gains with these throttle bodies? Any real-world insights?

I noticed around a 15hp gain with the Holley upgrade. It’s worth the investment if you’re serious about tuning your engine.

You guys talk about throttle bodies, but don’t forget about tuning afterward. It’s crucial for maximizing performance.

Absolutely! Even a great throttle body needs a good tune to shine. Never skip that step.

After all this talk, I might need a stronger drink. Who knew throttle body upgrades could be so complex?

The Fast 102mm is a solid option! I’ve heard the Holley 90mm is also worth considering for a balance between performance and cost.

For budget-friendly but high-quality options, check out the BBK 70mm throttle body. It has excellent flow and doesn’t cost a fortune!

I agree about the BBK! It offers really good bang for the buck while still maintaining great performance.

I’ve had success with the truck throttle body swap! Just ensure you get the right connectors. It’s a decent performance boost for less money.

Thanks for sharing! Did you have to reprogram the ECU for it to work properly?

Yes, I did need a tune afterward to get everything to run smoothly, but it was well worth it for the extra power!

For those on a tight budget, I’d say the Stock replacement option is worth considering too. You can improve airflow understanding the right mods without exhausting your wallet!

Great point! Sometimes simple upgrades can surprise you. Just depends on how you plan to use your ride.

Anyone else find it ironic how a throttle body could stir up so much debate? It’s like the pizza topping argument of the car world!
