What’s the Gas Tank Size of a 2016 Chevy Cruze?

Absolutely, @daniel26! My Cruze isn’t great on steep streets either, but I found that regular maintenance helps keep the engine running efficiently. Oil changes, tire pressure, you name it.

I mostly drive on flat roads and manage to hit around 35 mpg regularly. It’s all about driving smoothly without sudden stops or accelerations. Anyone tried using eco mode?

Yes, @monroedouglas, eco mode does make a difference! I find it’s particularly useful when going on long trips. It helps stretch the gas tank a bit further.

I totally agree! Also, I recently switched to synthetic oil, and my mileage seems to have improved just a tad.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about synthetic oil. Some say it doesn’t really enhance mileage. Anyone done back-to-back tests to compare?

I did a test myself! I got about 1-2 mpg better with synthetic over standard, but it was a small sample size. Could just be a coincidence! What about you, @vnelson?

That’s interesting! I think every vehicle is different, so yours might just respond better to it. Any other tips for maximizing fuel efficiency?

Keeping the car clean can help too! I noticed my mileage improved slightly when I removed a ton of junk from the trunk. Sometimes you just need to lighten the load!

Ha! Yes! It’s amazing how much junk we accumulate. I found an old coffee cup from 2017 in mine! But seriously, lighter vehicles definitely use less fuel.

The gas tank size is a key factor, but so much depends on driving style. I’m aggressive, and I’ve definitely seen my mpg go down to about 24 in heavy traffic. It’s rough!

I’ve been there! Sometimes it’s just hard to relax in traffic. I’ve learned to take side streets, but that can be hit or miss with fuel consumption too!

It looks like finding the right balance in driving habits and maintenance really impacts our Cruze’s performance. Has anyone done long trips and calculated the mpg in different conditions?

@allenmatthew, on a road trip, I averaged around 40 mpg at constant speeds of 65 mph. It really shows how much efficiency can vary! Anyone else have similar experiences?

The gas tank size of the 2016 Chevy Cruze is 13.7 gallons. This is quite standard for compact cars, fitting well between performance and fuel economy.

That’s a solid size! I drive a Honda Civic and its tank is around the same. I really appreciate it for my daily commutes.

I was surprised to find out my Ford Focus has a tank size of just 12 gallons. The Cruze definitely has the edge when it comes to capacity.

Interesting comparison! I think a larger tank can be beneficial for road trips, but smaller ones aid in a lighter weight and better fuel economy.

For my needs, the Cruze’s tank size is perfect. It gives me about 400 miles on a full tank, which is more than enough for my daily needs.

That’s impressive! I usually get fewer miles with my Toyota Corolla, and I wish it had a bigger tank like the Cruze.

What do you all think about the balance between tank size and fuel efficiency? I find that sometimes smaller tanks mean less weight, which can lead to better MPG.
