What cam did you use, gonzalezchristopher? I’ve been thinking about that option for my 5.3 too but want to make sure I pick the right one.
I went with a Texas Speed Stage 2 cam. Didn’t regret it! With headers and a tune, it’s like a completely different engine now.
Just remember, you can get substantial power out of a 5.3 with the right build, but it does require some investment in parts and tuning.
There’s definitely something to be said for the lightweight nature of the 5.3. It can transform how your vehicle feels, especially in tight corners.
For sure! The 5.3 is all about keeping things nimble while still offering decent power. It may not be a monster like the 6.0, but it can hold its own.
If I had a dollar for every time someone ignored their 5.3 because they thought it was weak, I’d be rich! These engines can be beasts with the right mods!
Looking back, I wish I’d tried a 5.3 earlier. It’s a great starting point for anyone wanting performance without breaking the bank.
Considering all we’ve discussed, it seems like the best engine really depends on your goals. If you want something fun and efficient, the 5.3 is a champ!
