What's the Buzz on 62 Bubble Top Impalas?

That sounds amazing! What specific kit did you use? I want to enhance my ride too.

I used the Hotchkis suspension kit. I also added new bushings and sway bars. Totally worth it for a great driving experience!

I’ve also been thinking about brakes. My stock drums just won’t cut it. Any recommendations for upgrades?

I switched to disc brakes up front, and it made a huge difference in stopping power. Highly recommend it for any '62 owner!

Disc brakes are a game changer! Just make sure you get the right adapters for the Bubble Top before you start replacing everything.

I’ve also seen people install LS engines. Anyone have thoughts on that swap?

LS swaps are cool but can be contentious. Some purists don’t like it. What are everyone else’s thoughts?

I think it’s all about what you want from your Bubble Top. If you want reliability and power, then LS is the way to go! But nothing beats the original look and feel.

Haha, I love how passionate everyone is! Just remember, whether it’s an LS swap or a classic small block, it’s your ride!

True! Just don’t forget to have fun with it. I still have the stock radio; some things are best left untouched.

Speaking of fun, has anyone done a custom exhaust? I’m considering adding some headers to really boost performance and sound!

Definitely go for it! Headers can really improve your exhaust flow, and they give it a nice rumble too!

After all the upgrades, just remember to enjoy the experience! Nothing like cruising in a '62 Bubble Top with the windows down.

Exactly! And don’t forget how it influenced later designs. The 62 Bubble Top is like the grandparent of many modern muscle cars.

I believe the nostalgia for the 62 Impala comes from its blend of luxury and performance. It was a car you could show off but also take to the drag strip!

I totally agree, sduncan. The fact that you could customize it so easily contributed to its popularity. From lowriders to hot rods, everyone had their style.
