The OBD fuse for a 2006 Chevy Silverado can be found in the fuse box under the dash on the driver’s side. It’s usually labeled as ‘OBD’ or ‘Diagnostic.’
I had a similar issue where my scanner wouldn’t connect. Replacing the OBD fuse fixed it right up! Just ensure you’re using a good quality fuse.
Thanks for sharing! Did you notice any engine codes before you replaced the fuse?
I didn’t see any codes, but the engine light was on. After replacing the OBD fuse, it reset, and the light turned off. Pretty relieved!
I had issues with my check engine light, and it turned out my OBD fuse was blown. Definitely check that fuse if you’re having problems!
The hell with fuses! Why can’t they just make a fuse that lasts? I swear I’ve replaced mine three times this year alone.
I feel you, scarrillo! Fuse issues can be frustrating. Have you looked into any underlying electrical problems?
It’s possible there could be a short somewhere. I once had a wire that was rubbing against the frame and causing issues. Check those wires!
Great tip! It’s always good to do a thorough inspection. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that cause all the headaches.
