I’m considering picking up a 2015 Chevy Cruze RS and I’m really curious about its fuel efficiency. I’ve done some research, but I’d love to get some real-world input from other owners or anyone who has experience with this model. Here are a few specific things I’m wondering about:
Fuel Economy Ratings
What are the average MPG you’re getting in your Cruze RS?
How does it perform in city driving versus highway driving?
Have you noticed any significant differences in fuel efficiency depending on driving conditions?
Comparisons and Performance
For those who’ve driven both the RS and non-RS models, how does the sportier trim impact fuel economy?
If you’ve also owned or driven other compact cars, how does the Cruze compare in terms of miles per gallon?
Tips and Tricks
Are there any driving tips you’ve learned to help maximize fuel economy in this model?
Do you recommend specific maintenance practices that might help improve MPG over time?
I’m really interested in hearing your experiences and any advice you can share. Thanks in advance for your help!
I’ve had my 2015 Chevy Cruze RS for a couple of years now. Officially, it gets 27 MPG city and 37 MPG highway. But in real-world driving, I usually see around 25-30 MPG in the city, depending on traffic conditions.
I think driving style is a huge factor! I’ve noticed that when I accelerate gently and avoid heavy braking, my MPG tends to improve significantly—hovering around 32 in the city.
Hills are tough! I’ve noticed that when I shift down early and maintain momentum, it helps reduce the MPG impact. Overall, I’m averaging 28 in mixed driving, but highway trips boost it to 35!
Exactly! And have you guys thought about the effect of the type of fuel? Premium versus regular could also be a deciding factor, though my Cruze runs just fine on regular.
I did try premium once, and honestly, the difference in MPG wasn’t enough to justify the cost for me. Just a slight 1-2 MPG increase on the highway, but I quickly switched back to regular.
Haha, I guess we’re all experimenting here! Just like trying to find the right coffee brew—sometimes it’s not about the brand but how you brew it. Drive smooth and efficient!
I’ve been driving my 2015 Chevy Cruze RS for about 5 years now, and I’ve consistently gotten around 30-32 MPG in mixed driving. On the highway, I’ve hit 37 MPG a couple of times! Just make sure to keep your tires properly inflated.
That’s great to hear, barrerachristy! I’ve noticed similar figures with mine. Regular maintenance really does make a difference, right? I’ve switched to synthetic oil, and it seems to help.
I only get about 27 MPG in the city, but I’ve been told that my driving style is a bit aggressive. Any tips on how to improve this? I really want to maximize my fuel efficiency.
For a bit of humor, I like to say my Cruze has a mind of its own when it comes to MPG. One day it’s a fuel-efficient champion, and the next day it’s thirsty like a desert! Love it anyway… just wish it was more consistent!
About 28 MPG in the city is my norm. I think keeping the car clean helps too—maybe it’s just me, but a clean vehicle feels lighter! Anyone else feel that?
I usually get around 29 MPG city and 35 MPG highway, but I drive a lot with the A/C on. Have you guys noticed any significant drop in MPG when the A/C is running?
