Best Torque Converter for 6L80 - Need Recommendations!

Just installed a Hughes Performance converter, and I’m liking it so far. It has a great balance between daily driving and performance.

What stall RPM did you go with on the Hughes? I’m hesitant about going too high since I use my truck for towing.

I went with a lower stall speed for that reason—around 2400 RPM. Works well for both towing and performance for me.

I had a bad experience with a B&M converter. Slipped a lot and was noisy. I wouldn’t recommend it for the 6L80.

I’m sorry to hear that! I thought B&M had a decent rep. I’ll steer clear now.

I think it’s a mixed bag for B&M. Some love them; others not so much. It really depends on the specific model you choose. Have you thought about custom options?

What do you mean by custom options? Are those worth the extra cost?

I believe some shops offer custom-built converters tailored to your needs. They might be pricier, but the performance gains could justify it!

That’s awesome! I have to look into that; thanks for the tip!
