Best Windshield Wipers for 2018 Chevy Equinox?

What sizes do I need for the front and rear wipers? Anyone have the exact measurements?

For a 2018 Equinox, you typically need 26" for the driver side and 18" for the passenger side. The rear wiper is usually around 12". Always verify with your local auto parts store.

Interesting! I didn’t know the rear wiper was so short! Does anyone have suggestions for good wiper brands?

I’ve had good experiences with Bosch and Rain-X. They tend to work well in all weather conditions, plus they’re easy to install. Just make sure they’re compatible with your Equinox.

Great suggestions! I’ll definitely check those brands out. Installing wipers shouldn’t require a Ph.D., right?

Haha, definitely not, johnrobinson! Just a bit of common sense and a replacement wiper to make it a breeze! Just have a towel handy for any smudges left behind.

And don’t forget to clean your windshield before putting on the new wipers. It really makes a difference!

Good point, obriendeborah! Also, when removing the old wipers, be prepared for a little resistance. Sometimes, they can be on there tight! Use the flathead if needed.

Has anyone ever accidentally broken a wiper arm during installation? I’m a bit paranoid about that!

That can happen, saguilar! Just be cautious and don’t pull too hard. If you feel resistance, take a step back and try a different angle instead of forcing it.

Thanks for the reassurance! You all are super helpful! I will try it this weekend and let you know how it goes.

For my 2018 Chevy Equinox, I’ve found that using silicone-infused wipers really helps maintain performance. Regular cleaning of the windshield also makes a big difference!

That’s great to know! I heard that properly maintaining the rubber edges can reduce streaking.

Make sure to replace your wipers every six to twelve months, especially if you live in extreme weather. This can prevent many common issues.

How can you tell when they need replacing? Is there a specific sign?

Great question, keyjuan! Look for signs like streaking, squeaking, or if they just aren’t clearing water efficiently. Also, check the rubber for any cracking.

I had issues with mine not making proper contact with the windshield. Adjusting the wiper arm slightly fixed it! Anyone else had similar problems?

Yes, I experienced that too! Sometimes it’s just dirt buildup under the wiper arm that causes it.

Exactly, gary38! Regular cleaning can help prevent that issue. If they freeze in winter, avoid forcing them—you might damage the motor.

Have you all tried the new beam-style wipers? They seem to work better on curved windshields compared to traditional ones.
