Chevy Equinox AC Not Working - Need Help Troubleshooting!

It could be low refrigerant levels or even a leak. Definitely worth getting a professional to check it out if those basic checks don’t solve it!

Also, don’t forget to run the AC every now and then, even in winter. It helps keep all the components in good shape! Learn from my mistakes!

Great reminder! AC can be finicky if it’s not maintained, right? A little upkeep goes a long way.

For real! Sometimes I wonder if my AC unit is haunted—only works when it feels like it! Anyone else have that experience?

What a spooky thought, cindymcdowell! On a more serious note, if the basics don’t fix the problem, I recommend visiting a certified mechanic. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Thanks for the advice! I’m hoping it’s something simple, but I’ll keep that in mind if it’s not. Appreciate everyone’s input!

I’ve had similar issues with my Chevy Equinox’s AC! It turned out to be a faulty compressor. I took it to a local shop, and they charged me about $900 for the repair. It’s working great now!

Wow, $900 is steep! Did you get multiple quotes before deciding on that shop?

My AC stopped blowing cold air last summer. I found out it was a refrigerant leak. The repair cost me around $300, but it was an easy fix for the mechanic. Definitely check for leaks first!

That’s good advice! Leaks can really ruin your summer. Did you notice any strange noises before it stopped working?

I had a similar AC issue last year. Turned out to be a bad relay. The repair was only $150 at my local shop, and it fixed the problem right away! Worth checking out.

That sounds so much better than my case! I had to replace my entire AC unit last winter. It cost me over $1,200! So, I’m pretty jealous of the cheaper fixes here!

I had one of those complete unit replacements too, Steven! It feels like a money pit at times. In my case, the unit was simply old and drained.

That definitely sounds frustrating. It’s crazy how much repairs can add up. Have you guys tried DIY fixes?

I tried a DIY recharge kit once, thinking it would be easy. It worked for a week and then died again! Now I just stick with the professionals; they know what they’re doing.

I once used a mechanic who didn’t know what he was doing. Charged me $500 and fixed nothing! It’s so important to choose your mechanic carefully.

Funny how that happens! I’ve also wasted money on those kits. Just stick to trusted mechanics, it’s worth it!

Yikes! Unfortunately, I’ve had that experience too. It’s tough to find a reliable mechanic, especially with AC issues.
