Seeking Advice on Chevy Silverado Fitment with 26-inch Rims
Hey everyone,
I’ve been considering some major upgrades for my Chevy Silverado and I’m leaning towards adding 26-inch rims. I’m super excited about how it could change the look of my truck but I also want to make sure I’m making the right choices when it comes to fitment and modifications.
Here’s what I’m curious about:
Fitment Issues: Are there specific Silverado models that handle 26s better? I’ve heard that some years might be better than others when it comes to fitment. Any advice on what to avoid?
Lift Kits: Do I need a lift kit for these rims? If so, what size lift would you recommend to ensure I avoid any rubbing while turning?
Aesthetic Changes: How do 26s impact performance and gas mileage? I’m all in for looks, but I’d love to hear about any trade-offs.
Visual Examples: If you have a Silverado with 26s, could you share some pictures? I’d love to see how they look in real life!
Any tips on installation?
I’m planning to do the work myself, so any tips on installation or tools I might need would be super helpful too.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or experiences you can share! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
If you’re thinking about putting 26s on your Silverado, a good lift kit is essential. Brands like Fabtech or McGaughys are popular choices. You’ll also need new shocks to maintain ride quality. Don’t skimp on alignment either—it’s critical!
I agree! I went with a 7-inch lift and it made a huge difference. The ride quality is surprisingly good, just make sure to check your alignment after the install.
Don’t overlook your wheel offset! Proper offset can help with clearance on your suspension components. Just installed 26s and had to adjust mine significantly.
