Chevy Traverse Screen Frozen - Need Help Fast!

That’s hilarious, Jasmine! But yeah, it can be frustrating when technology doesn’t cooperate. It makes you feel like a passenger in your own ride. Have you tried factory resetting the system?

I wouldn’t factory reset unless it’s the last resort! You could lose a lot of saved settings. Sometimes just updating the system works without the hassle.

Good point, Norman. Losing settings would be a pain! But if all else fails, I’d consider it.

Don’t forget to check for any physical damage, especially after bad weather! Sometimes moisture can mess with the screen connections. Just a thought!

That’s something I never thought about, Holly. I always assumed it was just software. If it’s moisture-related, I’m ready to take out the hairdryer! :joy:

At the end of the day, we just want our Chevys to work! If all else fails, take it to a dealer. There might be something more deeply faulty that we can’t diagnose ourselves.

I had the same issue with my Traverse a few months ago! I found that a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes helped clear the frozen screen. It was a hassle, but it worked!

I’m glad that worked for you! I’ve also heard that just holding down the power button for about 10 seconds can reset the screen without disconnecting the battery. Has anyone tried that?

I faced a similar issue last week! My screen froze while using navigation. After I stopped the car and turned it off for a bit, the screen came back to life. Just a simple reset!

It’s interesting how many of us are dealing with this! Does anyone know if there’s a software update that could help with these frozen screens?

I’ve been dealing with a frozen screen for months! I didn’t know about the battery trick—definitely worth a try. Anyone had success after updates? I just want this issue to go away!

Yes, I updated my system recently but still faced a freeze. It’s frustrating how these newer cars have such annoying bugs! I think they need to step up their tech game.

Totally agree! It’s like they release these vehicles with half-baked software. Has anyone thought about contacting dealer support?

I actually did that! They mentioned it could be a hardware issue and recommended checking the connections on the back. I’ll do that this weekend. Wish me luck!

Wishing you all the luck! I have a friend who just unplugged and re-plugged the cables behind the screen and that fixed it for him. Might not hurt to try!

LOL, mine froze during a road trip and I ended up just singing loudly to keep myself entertained. Don’t know if it fixed the screen, but it definitely lifted my mood!

That’s a great way to cope! Sometimes laughter is the best remedy. Still hoping for a real fix though! Anyone else had any luck resetting it completely?

I’ve had luck with resetting it and removing any organized apps that might take too much processing. It helped speed up overall performance. Worth a try!
