Looking for Replacement Mirrors for My 2002 Chevy Silverado - Any Recommendations?

I had a similar issue! Those clips really test your patience. I ended up using a flathead screwdriver to gently pry them off. It worked, but I learned to be careful.

Installation was a breeze using the right tools, but the mirrors I got had poor instructions. Just a heads up—make sure to check online for videos that can help!

Where did you find the best videos? I could use some visual guidance.

I had mine replaced by a professional and learned the hard way that DIY isn’t always the best choice! Definitely saves time if you can have a shop do it.

I decided to DIY and it was fun! The most challenging part was reconnecting the wiring. Make sure you have good connectors.

I went with a manual mirror instead of power ones. Surprisingly easy to install, but I miss the automatic features sometimes.

That’s interesting! I didn’t know those were options! Are they sturdier?

I installed some heated mirrors. It was a bit more complicated, but definitely worth it for winter driving, just follow the wiring carefully!

Seems like everyone here has had their share of fun! I really found installation comical when my dog decided to ‘help’ by chewing on the wiring.

Haha, that sounds like a classic! Make sure to keep your pets away next time to avoid extra challenges! :joy:

In the end, installation can be tough, but it sure helps you learn more about your truck! Each time gets easier.

Yeah, it’s worthwhile to gain that knowledge with a hands-on project! Plus, you gain a sense of accomplishment.

I second the Dorman recommendation! Mine have been durable and really weather-resistant through storms this past year.

I had a bad experience with some cheap mirrors from an online vendor. The vibrations were terrible! Can’t see anything over 50 mph. Go for something more reputable.

Did you check if the brands have good reviews on vibration control? I’m curious because my dad’s also looking to replace his, and I want to avoid his experience with bad mirrors!

That’s unfortunate! I had some from Nasty Z28; they worked well, no vibrations, weatherproof, and they’ve lasted two years so far! Highly satisfied.

Weather resistance is key for sure! My mirrors have taken a beating from UV rays and rain, and they still look new. I’d be happy to share the brand if others are interested.

Yes, please share the brand! I think that’s what I need to focus on, too. My last ones didn’t hold up well.

If you want humor while shopping, go for the ‘tough as nails’ ones. I got Shatterproof mirrors, and unless a tornado hits my truck, they should survive anything!

How tough can they actually be? I mean, you can always find something tougher! But seriously, what makes a mirror durable besides the glass?
