Looking for Tips on My Custom 1995 Chevy S10!

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a 1995 Chevy S10 and I’m planning to make it my own with some custom modifications. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has recommendations or advice on where to start!

Here are some specifics on what I’m considering:

  • Body Mods: I’m thinking about a new paint job and maybe some body kits. Any suggestions on brands or styles that work well with the S10?
  • Performance Parts: I’d love to enhance the engine’s performance. Are there particular upgrades that are popular or effective?
  • Interior Customization: I want to freshen up the interior. What are your favorite modifications or materials?
  • Community Resources: Are there any great forums, websites, or local clubs for S10 enthusiasts where I can connect with others?

I’ve done some research, but…

I’d like to hear from those who have hands-on experience. What pitfalls should I avoid? Any tips on sourcing parts?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! I’m super excited about this project and can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Cheers!

When customizing your 1995 Chevy S10, consider upgrading with aftermarket suspension kits for better handling. A drop kit can give it a sleek, sporty look too!

Absolutely! And don’t forget about body kits. I recommend checking out brands like Street Scene or Duraflex for some great options!

Performance upgrades can greatly enhance your S10. I added a cold air intake and exhaust system which boosted my horsepower noticeably. Worth every penny!

That sounds like a solid investment! Any tips on what brands you used?

I went with K&N for the intake and Flowmaster for the exhaust. They work great together and sound incredible too!

Don’t overlook the wheels! A nice set of aftermarket rims can really change the look of your S10. Have you considered sizes or styles?

I’m leaning towards 18-inch rims with a matte black finish to give it a more aggressive stance!

That sounds awesome! Just make sure your tire size accommodates that for a smooth ride.

If you’re into looks, chrome accents on bumpers and mirrors can also add to the aesthetic. Just don’t go too overboard; subtlety works best!

I guess chrome is fine, but too much can make it look flashy, like a disco ball. Moderation is key, right? Just my two cents.

Haha, I agree! A balanced approach is definitely crucial for the best look.

Take your time with the build. It’s an art! And make sure you enjoy the process. Have fun customizing your ride!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to maintain my 1995 Chevy S10, but I keep hearing about issues with the throttle position sensor. Has anyone faced this? Any tips for troubleshooting?

I’ve dealt with that! A quick sensor calibration can resolve issues with acceleration. Also, make sure to check the connections for any corrosion!

Don’t forget to clean your fuel injectors regularly! Clogged injectors can lead to rough idling, which I think a lot of us experience in older S10s.

So true! I also recommend checking the fuel filter. A clogged filter can cause similar problems.

What’s the most common mechanical issue you’ve had to fix? I’ve noticed some odd noises lately, and I’m wondering if it’s the transmission. Anyone else?

Transmissions can be tricky! I recommend checking the fluid level and color first. Dark or burnt fluid is a bad sign.

A great tip for keeping your S10 in shape is regular oil changes, especially if you’re planning on keeping it for years. It helps prolong engine life!
