Nitto Ridge Grappler on Silverado - Anyone Tried It?

I’ve done some off-roading and the Grapplers did great! But after about 20,000 miles, I noticed the tread starting to look a bit worn. They handle well, though!

That’s awesome to hear! I’ve had my share of slipping in the rain. Do you rotate them regularly?

Definitely! Rotating them every 5,000 miles seems to help with even wear. What’s the highest mileage you guys have reached on these tires?

I’m currently at 40,000 miles, and while the tread is at about 4/32", I’m impressed with the performance still. Just ordered a new set though!

Wow, 40,000 miles is impressive! I’m at around 28,000, and I’m starting to feel a bit worried about how much longer they’ll last. Should I be looking for replacements soon?

If the tread is getting low, it might be a good idea to start shopping around. I didn’t realize how fast they could deteriorate until I tried off-roading.

I’ve had mine on for 15,000 miles, and I think they’re super sturdy! Just curious, is anyone else concerned about road noise? I feel like they’re kinda loud.

They can be a bit noisy compared to other tires, but the grip they offer makes it worth it for me! What do you expect from a hybrid tire?

Just purchased a set based on this thread, so I’m excited to see how they hold up! Hopefully I’ll be able to share my own feedback soon.

Good luck! I hope they exceed your expectations! My last set wore out way too quickly, so fingers crossed for you.

I’ve put Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2018 Silverado. The installation was straightforward, but I had to use a 2-inch lift kit to avoid rubbing. Size 275/70R18 worked perfectly for me.

That’s good to know! Does anyone have experience with a stock height Silverado using these tires?

I installed the 33-inch Ridge Grapplers on my 2020 Silverado without a lift, and they fit well! Just needed a little wheel alignment afterward. No rubbing at all!

How was the alignment process? Did you encounter any challenges?

I agree with you, garywright! Regular checks are key. Plus, the ride with these tires is super smooth on and off-road!

For those who installed them, how do these tires perform in wet conditions?

I found the Ridge Grapplers to be great in the rain! They handle well and provide good traction. Just make sure your treads are healthy.

I’m a little skeptical. I’ve read mixed reviews about these tires’ wet performance. Anyone experienced hydroplaning with them?

Haven’t experienced hydroplaning, but I do drive cautiously in heavy rain. Maybe it varies by driving style?

Maybe! I think some people expect too much from all-terrain tires in adverse weather. They work well, but they’re not magic! LOL
