Transmission Shudder on My 2019 Traverse – Anyone Else Facing This?

I’ve been experiencing a frustrating transmission shudder in my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, especially when accelerating or shifting gears. It’s been quite concerning, and I’m curious to know if anyone else has faced similar issues.

Symptoms I’ve Noticed:

  • Shuddering during acceleration: This happens mostly between 20-40 mph.
  • Jerking when shifting gears: The transitions between gears feel rough.
  • Increased RPMs without speed increase: Occasionally, I notice the RPMs spike up without a corresponding increase in speed.

Troubleshooting Steps I’ve Tried:

  • Fluid Check: The transmission fluid level seems fine, but I’m considering a fluid change.
  • Resetting the transmission learned behavior: I’ve read that this can sometimes help.
  • Checking for recalls or service bulletins: I haven’t found anything specific yet.

I’m looking for advice on how to tackle this problem. Has anyone figured out reliable fixes or if there’s a common underlying issue? Any help or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! Let’s help each other out here.

I’ve been experiencing a transmission shudder in my 2019 Traverse too. It’s noticeable when accelerating. Anyone have insights on this?

I had the same issue! I’ve heard that torque converters can be a culprit. A faulty torque converter can definitely cause shuddering.

Torque converter problems can lead to harsh shifts as well. It’s worth checking fluid quality and ensuring it’s at the right level. It can really make a difference.

My Traverse had the same issue, and a software update fixed it! Have you checked if there’s an update available for your vehicle? It might help. The dealership was really helpful.

I’ll have to look into that. Did the update change anything about the driving experience? I’m curious if it made a noticeable improvement.

Definitely a noticeable improvement after the update! It shifted smoother, kind of like my coffee after I added cream. Just make sure you aren’t low on transmission fluid either; that can cause shudders too.

Great advice! I remind myself to check all fluids regularly. What’s the ideal fluid condition for our Traverses?

Typically, it should be a bright red color and should not smell burnt. If it’s dark or smells bad, it might be time for a change. Have anyone done a fluid change recently?

I changed my fluid a few months ago, and it helped a bit, but the shudder still lingers. It’s frustrating! I feel like it’s a game of find the right part to replace.

Sounds like a common issue we’re dealing with. Honestly, considering our vehicle’s age, it might just be a freak occurrence with the model. Ever thought about contacting Chevy directly?

I think they should extend warranties for this kind of thing. You know, like a shudder mitigation plan! Wouldn’t that be nice?

I’ve been experiencing a transmission shudder in my 2019 Traverse too! It usually happens when I’m accelerating from a stop. It’s quite annoying and makes me question the reliability of my vehicle.

I totally relate to that! Mine shudders a lot more when going uphill, and it feels like the transmission is struggling. Anyone found a fix?

I’ve had the same issue for a few months now. The shudder happens mostly around 30-40 mph. It can be really unsettling, especially on the highway. I’ve spoken with my dealer, but they haven’t found anything wrong yet.

Interesting! Mine seems worse when the engine is cold. I wonder if temperature has an effect on the shuddering?

I’ve taken my Traverse in for service multiple times about the shudder. They keep telling me it’s a common issue, but no solutions have been offered. It’s frustrating!

I wonder if they’re just giving us the runaround. I’d like to see some acknowledgment from GM about this problem!

It’s definitely something that needs addressing! I’ve lost some confidence in my Traverse due to this. The performance just doesn’t feel reliable anymore.

Same! I thought I bought a quality vehicle, and now I feel like I just got a lemon. Anyone tried different fluids or anything?
