What Running Boards Are Best for the 2023 Silverado?

Hey folks! I’m in the market for running boards for my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado, and I could really use some feedback or reviews from those who have already installed or used them.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Compatibility: Are there any specific brands or models that fit perfectly on the 2023 Silverado?
  • Installation Recommendations: How easy are they to install? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!
  • Pricing: What price ranges should I expect? Are there any options that offer great value?
  • Aesthetic Choices: Any recommendations on styles or finishes that look good with the Silverado?

I want to make sure I’m making an informed decision, so any insights you have would be super helpful! Let’s see if we can compile a good list of options and experiences. Thanks a bunch!

I’ve been looking into running boards for my 2023 Silverado as well. From what I’ve seen, aluminum boards are lightweight and resist corrosion, which is great for rainy weather.

That’s a good point! I’ve heard aluminum can dent more easily though. Have you looked into steel boards? They seem more durable for heavy use.

I went with plastic running boards for my Silverado. They’re surprisingly sturdy and weather-resistant, plus they don’t rust!

I’ve read that steel boards can be heavier, but they are extremely durable and good for off-roading. Just need to keep an eye on rust if you live in a wet area!

Good advice! If I go with steel, I’ll definitely get some good rust-proof coating. Has anyone tried powder-coated aluminum?

I have powder-coated aluminum boards, and they look great! The finish holds up well against weather elements and they’re lightweight. Just be careful with loading heavy stuff onto them.

I appreciate that! I’m leaning towards aluminum then. What about grip? Do they provide good footing?

The grip on aluminum boards varies by brand. Some have non-slip pads which are a must for wet conditions!

Honestly, I’m just here for the laughs! I can see it now: ‘Dude, check out my running boards — smoother than my dating life!’

Haha! That’s hilarious! But seriously, does anyone have issues with plastic boards? How do they hold up on gravel roads?

Plastic can be surprisingly resilient! I’ve had mine through some rough terrain and they’ve held up without cracking, though they might flex a little under stress.

That’s reassuring! It’s all about balancing weight and durability. I’m definitely feeling torn, but leaning towards aluminum!

In the end, it all comes down to your driving style and what conditions you face. I’m reflecting on my choice between design vs. practicality!

I just installed the Dee Zee running boards on my 2023 Silverado. The installation was straightforward! Only needed a socket set and a torque wrench. No modifications required.

That’s great to hear! I’ve been considering the same brand. Did you find any hiccups during the process?

I went with the Westin boards. Installation took about an hour, but I had to drill a couple of holes. It was manageable, just make sure you have a drill handy!

Yikes! I prefer no-drill options. Any recommendations that don’t require modifications?

I recently installed the amp research power steps. Super easy and they look awesome! Just plug and play with no drilling needed.

I’ve heard great things about those! Are they sturdy enough for heavy usage? I do a lot of off-roading.
